Claim

A claim is a legal action or request to obtain money or property from the insurance company against damages incurred on the insured auto or piece of property. Insurance claims include everything from death benefits on life insurance plan to routine health check-ups at your local doctor. Usually claims are filed by third parties on behalf of the insured person, but normally the person(s) listed on the policy are entitled to proceeds from claim.
